Economic Conversation is a teaching and commentary site devoted to explaining economics in clear, practical language. The purpose of this site is to help students understand how economic ideas apply to everyday business activity, public policy, and current events.
While the site is designed especially for my students, I welcome anyone with an interest in economics to explore its contents. My hope is that the topics you hear about and read about almost every day will be explained here in a way that makes economics more understandable, useful, and relevant.
I will also post selected research and opinion papers that address specific economic issues in today’s world. I encourage thoughtful feedback and discussion, because meaningful economic conversation helps all of us learn from one another.
